The Denim and Lace Dance Class

Each Tuesday country line dance classes are conducted at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Sheboygan. People of all ages and ability cut their boots on the floor while Barb Bishop instructs their moves. The new students at first move slowly, concentrating on every step. By the end of an hour, the students are smiling and enjoying their new steps.

With the demise of several establishments that featured the country style dance in Sheboygan, The Bishop-led classes offer an opportunity for those needing an outlet for their fun.

The Denim and Lace Dancers of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, get together every Tuesday night for line dance lessons from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. We dance at Ebenezer United Church of Christ for two hours of dance exercise, but we're having so much fun that the time flys by. Lessons include beginner line dance through intermediate line dance levels. We dance to country music and other dance music as well. If it has a good beat you will likely hear it here. A new line dance is taught about every other week giving us more time to learn the steps and to review the dances from the previous weeks.

Please check out this website for more information. I have included a line dance glossary and descriptions of the basic line dance steps. The calendar page shows the dates of my classes and some area dance opportunities that we like to attend as well. There are dance step sheets you can print out for the dances we have done. I have added video links to some of the dances we do as well as posting our own videos on YouTube. Feel free to browse through the photos and see for yourself how much fun dancing can be!
